Goache playaround

Played a bit around with goache-tubes this evening. The first one kinda turned into a mess - I didn't manage to keep it simple, but it was fun nonetheless! I used the leftover-paint on the palette from the first one, to paint the last two pictures.

Biped project - Post-apocalyptic Scout

Biped-project

First stage : 6 days of Character Design.
Character description:
My character's set in a sci-fi post-apocalyptic setting - a ravaged dusty and polluted future, with vicious creatures lurking around. She's among the few survivors, having the role of scouting - and therefore her equipment includes a steampunk-inspired handheld telescope, a computer/zoom device covering her one eye, aswell as a gun for protection. Her general design is inspired by arabic and middle-eastern women and their clothing, mixed with the steampunk to get some sci-fi feel across.

Maquette making (4 days)

Next up: 3 weeks of 3d Maya-modelling and some sculpting.

Background thumbs

Small background studies - something I've started to like doing lately - aswell as small thumbnails in my sketchbook with watercolor. Will post those some other day.
First 4 here are from reference-pictures. Last two from imagination.

Sketchbook February 2012

Some little sketchbook update with various things. Animal-drawings from movie, creaturesketch from imagination and some experimental watercolour-stuff. I recently heard in a movie about the company ArenaNet (creating the upcoming game Guild Wars 2, which looks to be amazing), that they specifically assign time in their workday (around 20%), to just test out crazy ideas that's almost doomed to fail. I thought that was kinda cool. Maybe you once in a while come across something interesting and amazing when experimenting in new directions!
